UMOJA UNIT TRUST SCHEME
(UMOJA FUND)

INCOME DISTRIBUTION
Umoja Fund units were offered
to the public during the Initial Sale period from 16th May’2005 to 29th
July’2005. Clause 24.0 of both - the Umoja Fund’s Constitutive Document
(Deed of Trust) and Offering Document specifically stipulate Income Distribution
Policy. Furthermore, clause 24.1 of the Trust Deed states as follows: “The
scheme shall, subject to the availability, distribute income to unit holders at
least once a year or such other times as the Trustees may determine taking into
account the interest of the unit holders and the scheme”

Clause 11.0 of the Offering
Document also states as follows:-
“The Scheme offers two main
options aimed at serving various investment objectives suitable for investors of
various profiles. The scheme offers; an income option and a re-investment option
as follows:
(a)
Income Option:
In this option, provision is made for payment (distribution) of income
(b)
Re-Investment (Growth) Option:
In this option, no income distribution will normally be paid and instead,
it
will be ploughed back and units issued to the investor the number of units being
calculated by dividing the income entitlement to the respective Net Asset Value”
Accordingly, the Board of
Trustees of the Unit Trust of Tanzania (Manager of Umoja Fund) in its meeting
held on 27th July, 2006 declared an Income Distribution to Umoja Fund unit
holders. Details of the Income Distribution are as follows:

UNIT TRUST OF
TANZANIA (UTT)
Umoja Fund units were offered to
the public during Initial Sale period from 16th May’2005 to 29th
July’2005. The Fund was under a Lock-in period of 1 year, which is now
coming to an end on 31st July’2006. The Unit Trust of Tanzania has
entered into an arrangement with CRDB Bank Ltd for Sale & Re-purchase of Umoja
Fund units. Under this arrangement, all branches of CRDB will act as ‘Collection
Point’ for Sale & Re-purchase’ transactions. Hence, unit holders are
requested to follow the procedure as enumerated below:
(I)
PROCEDURE TO BUY UMOJA FUND UNITS FROM 01ST AUGUST’
2006 ONWARDS:
-
Investors are requested to call
the UTT Call Centre Telephone no.22-2128460 or Toll Free Numbers
0744800544 & 0744800455 for Vodacom customers to obtain ‘Investor
Account Number’.

After obtaining Investor’s
Account Number, visit any branch of CRDB to deposit amount to buy units
after writing the same ‘Investor Account Number’ on CRDB deposit slip.

Fill-in Investor Account
Opening Form (in case you are a new investor) and submit the same to UTT
office or any branch of CRDB.
Note:
(i)All applications for sale received & accepted on any working day will be
governed by the Net Asset Value (NAV) of the next working day.
(ii)Unit holders shall receive Statement of
Account which shall be dispatched to them not later than the tenth working day.
(iii) The allotment of units shall be done up to four decimal places.
(II)
PROCEDURE FOR RE-PURCHASE OF UMOJA FUND UNITS FROM 01ST
AUGUST’ 2006 ONWARDS:
1.Unit holders are requested to visit either UTT Office or any Branch of
CRDB,where the ‘Repurchase Form’ will be made available.
2.Obtain and fill-in the ‘Repurchase Form’.

3.The duly filled ‘Repurchase Form’ along with Unit Certificate should be
submitted to either UTT office or any branch of CRDB.
4.Repurchase proceeds shall be paid by UTT as follows:
(a)Unit Holders who have furnished their bank particulars will be paid
directly through their bank accounts.
(b)Unit Holders who have not furnished their bank particulars will be paid
through Post Office.
Note:
(i)If repurchase proceeds is equal to or above Tzs. 100,000/-
the furnishing of bank particulars is mandatory, and such
repurchase proceeds will only
be paid through a bank account.
(ii)
Repurchase proceeds shall be dispatched / posted to applicants not later
than the tenth working day.
(iii) All applications for repurchase received & accepted on a working day will
be governed by the Net Asset Value (NAV) of the
next
working day.
(III)
PROCEDURE FOR RE-PURCHASE OF UNITS HELD UNDER MORTGAGE BY BANKS.
OPTION –
1: PAY YOUR LOAN OBLIGATION IN FULL FROM OTHER SOURCES OF INCOME.

Settle your loan (through own
sources) with your bank.
-
Obtain Mortgage Release
Certificate & Unit Certificate from the bank.
-
If you wish to apply for
Re-purchase, fill in repurchase form & submit the same along with Unit
Certificate and Mortgage Release Certificate to UTT office or any branch of
CRDB.
-
Repurchase proceeds shall be
paid directly to the Unit holder.
OPTION –
2: APPLY FOR PARTIAL REPURCHASE TO PAY LOAN AND RETAIN THE BALANCE OF UNITS.

Approach your banker to apply
to UTT for partial repurchase of units to settle the loan obligation.

This option will enable the
unit holder to clear the loan obligation as well as to remain invested in
the scheme for balance units.

Repurchase proceeds shall be
paid directly to the bank.
OPTION –
3: APPLY FOR FULL REPURCHASE
-
Approach your banker to apply to UTT for full repurchase.

This option will enable the unit holder to clear the loan obligation and
get the balance amount.

Repurchase proceeds will be paid directly to the
bank.
DHAMANA YA
UWEKEZAJI TANZANIA (UTT)
Mfuko wa Umoja ulianza kuuza
vipande vyake wakati wa mauzo ya mwanzo kuanzia tarehe 16 Mei 2005 mpaka tarehe
29 Julai 2005. Mfuko ulikuwa katika kipindi cha kizuizi ambacho sasa
kinakaribia ukingoni ifikapo tarehe 31 Julai 2006. Dhamana ya Uwekezaji Tanzania
imeingia katika makubaliano na Benki ya CRDB ambao watakuwa wakala wa kuuza na
kununua vipande kuanzia tarehe 1 Agosti 2006. Katika makubaliano haya Matawi
yote ya CRDB yatakuwa yakiuuza na kununua vipande kwa niaba ya Dhamana ya
Uwekezaji Tanzania. Dhamana ya Uwekezaji Tanzania imeweka taratibu zifuatazo
katika manunuzi na mauzo ya vipande:
(I) UTARATIBU WA KUNUNUA VIPANDE VYA MFUKO WA UMOJA BAADA YA KIPINDI CHA
KIZUIZI KUANZIA TAREHE 01 AGOSTI 2006:

Wawekezaji wanakaribishwa
kununua vipande kwa kupiga simu na. 22-2128460
au simu za bure
(Toll Free) 0744 800544 na
0744 800455 kwa wale wenye
mtandao wa Vodacom
ili kupata ‘nambari ya akaunti’ kutoka Dhamana ya Uwekezaji Tanzania.
-
Tafadhali jaza nambari hiyo
katika deposit slip ya CRDB na kabidhi pamoja na pesa katika tawi lolote la
CRDB.
-
Wawekezaji wapya tu watatakiwa
kujaza fomu ya kufungulia akaunti ya uwekezaji katika Mfuko wa Umoja na
kupeleka ofisi za Dhamana ya Uwekezaji au Tawi lolote la CRDB.
Muhimu:
(i) Maombi ya kununulia vipande yatayapokelewa siku ya kazi yatafuata
thamani ya kipande ( NAV) ya siku ya kazi inayofuata.
(ii) Wawekezaji watapokea Taarifa ya Akaunti katika kipindi kisichozidi siku
kumi za kazi.
(iii) Mgao wa vipande
utafanywa kwa kuzingatia tarakimu nne za desimali (up to 4 decimal places)

UTARATIBU WA KUFUATA WAKATI WA KUUZA VIPANDE VYA MFUKO WA UMOJA KUANZIA

Wawekezaji wanaombwa kwenda kwenye Ofisi za Dhamana ya Uwekezaji Tanzania
au Tawi lolote la CRDB na kupata fomu ya kuuza vipande (Repurchase Form)

Baada ya kujaza fomu ya kuuza vipande, ambatanisha Hati ya Umiliki wa
vipande na kukabidhi.
-
Pesa zitalipwa kama ifuatavyo:
(a)
Wawekezaji ambao wametoa akaunti zao za benki watalipwa kupitia kwenye
akaunti hizo.
(b)
Wawekezaji ambao hawana akaunti za benki watalipwa kupitia njia ya Posta.

(i)Kama Thamani ya pesa za mauzo zitazidi TZS.100,000/-wawekezaji ambao
hawana akaunti za benki wanatakiwa
kufungua akaunti za benki ili
kupokea malipo.

kumi za kazi.
(iii)
Thamani ya Kipande (NAV) itakayotumika kuuza vipande ni ya siku ya kazi

vyako basi utatakiwa kujaza fomu ya kuuza vipande na ambatanisha Hati ya
kumiliki Vipande pamoja na Hati ya kumaliza mkopo na kabidhi kwenye ofisi za
Dhamana ya Uwekezaji au Tawi lolote la CRDB.
